The Los Angeles metropolitan area was the focus of the 2020 Built by Women competition.

We received an abundance of submissions during the open call, reviewed by an all-woman jury led by Joan Blumenfeld, FAIA. Jurors selected 64 projects that spans over 100 years, with the purpose to begin a deeper exploration of the important and brilliant ways that women shape the built environment.

The printed map, designed by Yay Brigade, doubles as a poster when unfolded, showcasing the names of the women whose projects are featured.
