T echnical progress changed every aspect of our civilization, except for the way people govern themselves. Egyptian pharaohs, caesars, and ancient Khans have long been history. The kings and queens are mostly gone. They have been replaced by presidents and prime ministers. The state structures the laws have evolved, but people are still looking for someone to govern them. We insist that it is not necessary.
Social contract and self-governance have always been a dream of humankind. And so far, we have failed to achieve this dream without using force and human rights infringement. However, the fact that we have not been able to do something for the past five thousand years does not mean that we will never be able to do it.
