An advocate for the creation of smart and accessible storytelling in museums, Newton most recently served as Director of Publishing at The Andy Warhol Museum. He joined the museum in 2019 after a six-year tenure as Associate Editor and later Director of Publishing at Carnegie Museum of Art, where he founded Storyboard , the institution's award-winning online journal.
