I got my BA degree in Mathematics from the University of California, San Diego in 1968. I loved math, but I didn't do anything more with it. Instead I started designing houses and environments. I learned drafting: Pencils, paper, compass, templates, T-square, erasers, and more erasers. In the early 1990s I was able to go back to school at San Diego State with the intention of getting an MA in Art.
