To provide an open source application to enable easy file sharing and storage through web-based access to an FTP server, intended to function on a domain with SSL encryption enabled.
Tom Stepleton started this project and Anthony Ball continued the project in early 2000 under the name “Web-FTP.” In 2013 OLI revived the project under a new name “Web-FTP File Manager,” reworking the user interface and transforming the archiving of downloaded files from Tar files to Zip files.
