New York Cares, in partnership with the New York Yankees and Community School District 9 in the Bronx , will host a coat distribution event as part of its 37 th Annual Coat Drive, where volunteers will distribute over 600 warm winter coats to students in need from P.S. 311, Lucero Elementary School and P.S. 294 The Walton Avenue School on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 10:00 a.m.– 12:00 p.m. at 1425 Walton Avenue in the Bronx.
The event will include students selecting and trying on coats, fun winter-themed activities and a DJ. New York Cares Chief Program Officer Jessica Quinones, New York Yankees Senior Vice President of Corporate / Community Relations Brian Smith, Haley Steinbrenner Swindal, Ambassador, Community Affairs, New York Yankees, Community School District 9 Superintendent Harry Sherman, Principal of P.S. 311 Angela Tolano, Principal of P.S. 294 Nicole Perkins and students.
