Every few months to a year I end up needing to do some plumbing. Each time I forget what I’ve learned previously and end up spending a couple hours at Lowes and buying 20+ adapters to find the right one. By the time I get it fixed, I’ve built up a decent bit of context around plumbing pipes and fittings, only to forget it before the next issue.
Around 6 months ago Chelsea and I decided we wanted to live on a boat. We figured what better time than now, and what better place than the San Francisco Bay. It’s been a crazy journey so far, and I’m often asked so many questions that I thought I’d put some of the story down in writing to share.
AWS CloudFront is a popular solution for deploying websites and single page applications (SPAs). There are a number of useful resources online explaining how to accomplish this. When developing SPAs, it’s often useful to be able to quickly deploy different branches or versions of the code, but in the case of hosting with CloudFront, this typically means overwriting another version or setting up additional infrastructure. This post explains how to deploy multiple sites on different subdomains using a single
